Dawkins, the man.
I’m Orthodox and I love trying to understand everything. There’s nothing wrong with that. o.o;
I don’t like when atheists snub people rudely just for having a religion or, if they believe in paranormal activity. Now, if someone’s religion is causing abuse towards others, interfering with civil rights, or stopping the technological and scientific advance of society, then that is a time to criticize. It is not fair to consider someone stupid just because they say they believe ghosts are in their house, or that they pray for their family.
To be truly intelligent I think you have to be willing to look at things from all viewpoints and aspects, not just scientific ones.
Its totally fair to criticize people for holding viewpoints which lack evidence. Its not that the person is necessarily stupid, its that the idea itself is. If you value truth and reason, apply it to all aspects of your life. There is value in understanding why someone who I disagree with holds a viewpoint, but that won’t stop me from calling them out when they are wrong.

The Canadian Holocaust, learn something new everyday. Another more recent historical atrocity committed by the Catholic Church. All in the name of god and racist belief. This shit makes me sick.
Other Canadian churches, mainly the Anglican Church, but also the United Church, also participated in residential schools.

You can be a sinner if you want, but don’t feel the need to include everyone in that category. Sin is as silly a concept as honour (as in honour killings, not carrying yourself in a way which is truly good) or face. Me? I’m just human, I make mistakes, but I do not need an imaginary being to forgive me of my failings, it is only on myself to learn from mistakes and to make right any wrongs I have caused. Outsourcing these to a mythological other is a pure laziness.
